SITUATION

The Austin Advertising Federation hosts an annual luncheon to discuss issues relating to the Hispanic Market. In the past the luncheon had been traditional and expected, so AdFed set out to innovate and bring new content and learnings to the table.

APPROACH

The MRC team was recruited to develop the strategy for the 2013 Hispanic Marketing Symposium – #HMSATX and Mando Rayo served as the Chair of the event. With the help of a team of talented Latino marketing professionals, we developed the theme: State of Mind – Understanding the Latino Experience, the message and focus on the bicultural, digital Latino.

OUTCOME

Twelve speakers, two keynotes and over 200 influencers and leaders attended #HMSATX. Top industry leaders participated to deepen their understanding of the Latino experience including Univision Corp., LatinWorks, Dieste, iNSPIRE!, Batanga Media, Mercury Mambo, Indio and Tecate Beer, Nielson Group, Don Julio Tequila, among others. Sponsors included H-E-B, Wells Fargo Bank, Univision, Time Warner Cable, KLRU-TV, PBS Austin, LatinWorks, Hahn Public Communications, Austin Chamber of Commerce and UT Division of Diversity and Community Engagement.
